Google reveal their new collection of free software, called 'Google Pack'. It contains Google Earth, Picasa, Google Pack Screensaver, Firefox, Norton Antivirus 2005, Google Desktop, Toolvar, Ad-Aware SE Personal, and Adobe Reader 7.
All the publicity seems to be around Firefox, but Safari is spreading like wildfire. Usage grew each month from 1.56 per cent at the close of 2004 (which put Apple's browser into fourth place behind Netscape) to 3.07 per cent.
Ato's iSee 360 turns any iPod, iPod mini or iPod nano into a video recorder/player. It plays video with sound, using the iPod's headphones or external speakers. It can record TV shows directly from the TV for playback on either the iPod or the telly.
Skype 1.4 offers Mac users several new call forwarding and call auto-answer features. The software will also automatically pause iTunes when a Skype call is answered, and a widget is available which can dial calls, look up country codes, and check calling rates.
Plasticsmith have come into their own since the launch of the Mac Mini, developing accessories at an alarming rate, and offering some really original and funky ideas.

After running out of stock internationally over the holiday period, Apple seem to now have the iPod Shuffle back in stock. However, rumours are still flowing that a new iPod Shuffle will be introduced in January, so don't rush out and buy one!
Just before noon on Thursday, Apple's website provided links to several iLife 06 pages, and referred to a new application entitled 'iWeb'. Currently, iLife only includes only iPhoto, iDVD, iMovie, GarageBand, and iTunes.
